Baby – Baby

Baby, these feeling of mine were shy
After I said hello and you replied
But the shyness waved good-bye
And I’m no longer terrified.
I was unsure
What your response might be
Would you just slam the door?
Or open it gently?
Looking back
I remember holding my breath
Fingers crossed for luck
Loud was my thumping chest.
Thankfully, you smiled at me
I took it as a good sign
They’re ever present, continuously
Like quality, aged wine.
You’re my – Baby
I simply adore waking up next to you
I’m yours exclusively
Our love is special, and not taboo.
